Yeah so it is Day 7 of the 30 Day Spring Fit Challenge and I am just starting today. Last week I was more focused on making sure the challenge was up and people were joining then I was about me doing the challenge. So if you didn't start yet, yeah well no worries I am just starting now.
I have a love hate relationship with fitness. I love, love, love, fitness attire. I will rock that style 7 days a week, I just don't love getting sweaty in it and that lies the problem... I wish I could say I was like my friend Getz who is super fit and loves everything from running, to holding planks, to crossfit. She is the polar opposite of me. However I have such respect for her and what she does.
Many of you know I love Red Hot Dance Fitness so might be wondering if I don't like to sweat and I am not a big fitness guru how does that all mesh together. Let's back up to a year ago January. I went to a fundraiser for Zumba and Red Hot. That is where a friend of mine, Megan, was doing her Red Hot Dance Fitness. I am not the most coordinated person so I was floored when I quickly fell in love with this newer dance fitness program. I loved the fact that I was dancing to songs from the radio, Megan motivated me, and there was a group of women who all supported each other. I found a release and it wasn't just about my thighs hurting or my arms feeling like mush, it was how I felt. I felt good mentally. I actually helped clear my mind, take away any anxiety, and made me feel happy.
Meg, Fit Ninja, became part of that. She made me accountable, she inspired me, she made me laugh, and she made me see that fitness could be fun. They say that you become very loyal to your instructor. Well boy have I. So much so that I created the MOM Prom Presents Red Hot Dance Fitness event at the mall so she could get more exposure. I started this challenge with my blog. This list goes on. Her and I had been friends for a long time, but I have to say the dynamic of our relationship changed on many levels over the last 2 years and I am very grateful it did.
So rock this challenge with Meg and I. If you don't want to do it one day and pick it up the next that is okay. You need to be okay with the choices you make. Here is a little saying I use to say when I was a teacher...
The choices we make determine our fate.
I look forward to jumping into this journey with all of you! I have to be totally honest... I can't wait for the wrap party even more to hear all about your journey and toast to whatever fitness breakthrough we had!
Now to write done on Fit Ninja's FB page after I muster through this challenge... Wish me luck!!!!
Peace Out-
Rebecca
