Blog Challenge: {Childhood Ambitions} Write a blog post about your childhood dreams, wishes & ambitions. What did you dream of becoming? What did you sincerely think you would do with your life? Where are you know along that road? How do you feel about where you are? Blog challenge is sponsored by Bloggy Moms.
Wow, where to begin? I remember once I wanted to be an astronaut and then the space shuttle blew up so that was over. I wanted to be in politics but the more I learned the more I didn't want people judging me on such a deep and personal level and then getting totally crazy about issues.
As I am trying desperately to remember what I wanted to do...princess, actress, doctor for sure. In high school I had no idea and my parents didn't push me to try new things so I didn't. I just went to school, didn't really do much and came home.
When I went to college I decided on a Political Science degree, I thought I'd go to law school...that did not happen, didn't have the grades or desire to be in school anymore. Plus I spent a lot of time partying (and not frat parties like you're thinking) but I planned different college events and it was great!
I had my daughter soon after graduating from college so other than one year in higher education, I've never even had a full time job, except of course wife & mother.
I now work part-time in marketing and mostly like it. I hate being on call as much as I feel like I am but I do like the flexibility of going to see my kids at school and I am always home when they get off the bus. I like working at home in front of the television and I also like going to the office for a few hours a week to have "adult time". It really is as Hannah Montana says, "the best of both worlds."
Maybe when I grow up I'll figure out what I really want to do. Its okay though, I like the "road" I'm on now, with my kids and husband and I'm mostly happy with how my life has turned out so far.
What about you, what did you want to do when you were a kid?
