Freecycle

Freecycle is a great group that will do two things...help you get rid of stuff you don't need and get stuff you actually want or need!

When we moved a few years ago, we posted quite a few things on freecycle that we didn't want to move. We just left the items in the front of our house and the people who contacted us through the website picked it up.

There are a few things I do to make this safe & easy. I request that people pick up quickly so things aren't laying around my house. I always lock the door when waiting for a pick up and I never give them my name or the names of my children. I have had nothing but success when it comes to freecycle. If you're interested, go to Yahoo.com and click on groups. You can search specifically for the Delco Freecycle chapter for residents of Delaware County. Here is what is on the group page.

*The Delaware County, of Pennsylvania, The Freecycle Network(TM) is open to all residents who want to "recycle" that special something rather than throw it away. Whether it's a chair, a fax machine, piano or an old door, feel free to post it. Or maybe you're looking to acquire something yourself. Whatever - you can post it (with the exception of live animals, explosives, weapons, drugs, sexually explicit, or any illegal items).

*Every item posted must be FREE*, no monies exchanged. Post your items here so they can find new homes with someone who needs them. Let's keep usable items out of the landfill! We all know about recycling, but reuse is even more environmentally friendly. The only requirement is that it must be FREE. No trading, swapping, bartering, sharing, or postage please.
