Delaware Family Blogging Event

Two weeks ago (can't believe it's been two weeks!) I was invited to the Delaware Family Blogging Event at the Christiana Hilton. My husband couldn't go but me and the kids packed our bags on Saturday afternoon and took the quick trip down to meet up with a few other blogging families. The event was organized by Jacqui from Single Parent Retreat, to raise awareness to Delaware as a venue for seminars and conferences. For us it was an easy trip, located just off 95, it took less than 40 minutes to get there.

 


We met up for a tour of the hotel with our guide Forrest.  He showed a variety conference rooms, bridal rooms, awesome business suite and many rooms had beautiful murals of Delaware Valley locations (ie Longwood Gardens).  One thing I really loved in one conference room...plugs!  There were so many that everyone would be able to bring their laptops & not fight over the outlets when we start to lose battery power!

We had a nice little room towards the back, where our kids didn't bother anyone, where we ate pizza, watched a movie & ate PopChips. ; made cars by RideMakerz which both my kids loved!  My favorite, favorite, favorite event of the night though, feeding the swans!  (don't worry, you don't feed them)

And what would a blogging event be without the swag?! There was a ton of it!  And all sooooo useful, but for me, the lap top bag was the best!  I just purchased a new laptop so I could take it to and from work.  I've been carrying it in a non-padded reusable bag, not exactly safe!  The Everki bag is such and upgrade!  Not only is it padded (which is a total must for computers, it has great organizational pockets.  One of the side pockets opens up to reveal another zipper pocket and places for pens, phones, cards and more! I love this bag and it is holding up beautifully, so I think I'll own it for a long time!
