REBECCA'S Review of Adventure Aquarium: THERE IS A GROUPON THAT YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO GET TODAY!!!!

During the year many of  us look for fun day trips to do with our kids.  I know our family likes to take a day and venture out from the normal routine.  Last year my daughter and I went to Adventure Aquarium for her 1st Grade Field Trip.  She LOVED it and wanted to bring her sister and cousins to see how cool it is.  Adventure Aquarium is very hands on!  You can touch so many amazing things as you can see in the pictures.  If you are comparing Adventure Aquarium to Baltimore you will find that Adventure Aquarium in smaller.  However at Adventure Aquarium you have many opportunities to touch different types of things you would find in our oceans.

Their tanks are also very cool!  From sharks to stingrays they have a wide variety of fish to explore!  

They have a very cool tank you can walk through so there are fish all around you. I couldn't get a great picture but my kids loved seeing sharks, stingrays and many more fish overhead and swimming all around them.   

On the 3rd level they have a great area where kids can play through different exhibits relating to all different types of water.  They have so many fun hands on opportunities for kids to explore.

Out side you can see the penguins.  They do have different times they feed the penguins.  It is a great opportunity for the kids to learn more about them. They also have a sting ray exhibit where you can actually feed them.  This was my girls favorite part!  The stingrays reminded me of dogs.  They begged for attention and looked for food.

They have a place to get food and it is expensive.  You may want to consider bringing in snacks or lunches to eat at the many tables or even outside along the river.  We chose to eat there and the food was pretty good but pricey as you could imagine but it was very convenient.

Another great cause and a great price on a game!

Derek "Rudy" Valentino was a first time triathlete who died during the swimming portion of the Philadelphia Triathlon. Derek was a life long resident of Delco, growing up in Folcroft and raising his family in Prospect Park. He left behind a wife and two boys. Derek was a coach for Folcroft and a letter carrier out of the Darby Post Office. We are raising money to help his two sons.

Fundraiser & Camden Riversharks

The Camden Riversharks is a great, inexpensive way to enjoy a baseball game with your family. On September 18 · 5:30pm - 8:00pm the game will include post game fireworks, Kids Run the Bases and a Safety Fair.  It is also a fundraiser for a reader of Delaware County Moms.

Reader Jenn has teamed up with the Riversharks on her first Susan G Komen 3 Day walk ever! It starts on October 15(which FYI is her birthday). Each walker must raise $2300 in order to walk. Jenn and everyone else hoping to complete the 3-day walk are already training.

Here is what Jenn had to say, "I walk because there are several women in my life effected by breast cancer, 2 survivors, 2 still battling, and my mother in law has STRONG family history...The training is a 24 week program where from start to finish I will have walked over 300 miles of training."
