I don't know about you, but we usually fall into a lunch time rut as the school year gets underway & our lunch of choice is peanut butter & jelly. I love having a few other lunch ideas that I can throw in every now & then though, just to change things up!

You can also create your own snack bags of plantain/banana chips, freeze dried fruit chips and rice cakes.· Know your children’s schedule - Choose snacks that are low in saturated fat and sugar and high in nutrients like low sugar yogurt, nuts, colorful veggies like carrot sticks, red, yellow or green bell pepper strips, fruit salad, cubes of low fat cheese and guacamole with blue corn chips.· Go Green! Make your child’s lunch in a re-useable lunch box with the food stored in sectioned off containers. This is not only eco-friendly but will also help to avoid squished sandwiches and broken snacks, and it will keep everything fresh and separate. Try to send items they can eat with their hands to eliminate plastic silverware.· Send a cute note to brighten their day -Top it all off with a loving note which adds just the final ingredient to your child’s lunch.
